Artea Bank, a Lithuanian commercial bank, has selected BPC’s SmartVista platform to modernise its card-issuing infrastructure.
The cloud-native, microservices-based solution will be delivered fully in SaaS mode.
It provides support for Mastercard debit and credit products, tokenisation for Apple Pay and Google Pay, and fraud management capabilities.
The platform enables the bank to issue more than 250,000 cards while maintaining compliance and operational efficiency.
In choosing a technology partner, Artea Bank aimed to shorten the time-to-market for new card products and offer customers a modern payments experience.
The bank sought technology that would meet EU regulatory requirements, provide scalability for potential cross-border services, and deliver an API layer for integration with its systems and partners.
BPC’s SmartVista platform addresses these requirements with card management as a service, allowing the bank to launch digital and physical Mastercard and locally branded card programmes.
It also supports tokenisation, real-time fraud management, and analytics.
The platform’s APIs integrate with Artea Bank’s core systems, third-party services, and digital wallets, offering a modular framework across the customer journey.
The solution ensures near-zero downtime and compliance with PSD2, RTS, PCI-DSS, GDPR, and DORA standards.
Its library of open APIs positions the bank to onboard new partners and extend its payments offering in the Baltic region.
Andrius Kamarauskas, Director of Strategic Technologies Development at Artea Bank, said:

“With BPC SmartVista platform in place, Artea Bank is set to accelerate its digital strategy, introduce additional card schemes, and extend its services to new market segments, reinforcing its role as a front-runner in Lithuania. We can now bring new products to market faster, meet stringent compliance demands, and give our customers the seamless digital experience they expect.”
Peter Theunis, SVP Sales at BPC, added:

“Artea Bank wanted a proven, cloud-ready platform that could scale with ambition and regulation alike. SmartVista’s modular, advanced features deliver exactly that. We’ve provided technology that will help the bank innovate at speed and drive modern payment experiences across Lithuania.”
