Latitude59 is expanding by organizing its first satellite event in Singapore.
Latitude59 is an international, impactful, and diverse startup and technology conference in the Baltic States and New Nordics and a global platform that connects startups, investors, and other startup ecosystem builders around the world.
“I am happy and grateful that we have the opportunity to connect the Estonian and Singapore startup ecosystems and introduce them globally. In Singapore, we see ourselves acting as a bridge between Estonia’s highly digitized and successful startup environment and Singapore’s rapidly growing tech and innovation sectors,”
said Latitude59’s CEO Liisi Org.
Singapore’s startup ecosystem is one of the leading in Asia and there is a strong interest among Estonian entrepreneurs and founders in Singapore’s success story and collaboration. Estonia aims to have 500 deep tech companies operating by 2030. Singapore already boasts 1,200 deep tech startups.
Latitude59 Global Mixer: Estonian Tech Meets Singapore will take place on October 29 as an exclusive side event of the SWITCH conference.
“Estonia is a small country with just 1.3 million people and our goal is to make Estonia bigger by bringing together startup communities from around the world. Singapore is a very logical place for this. Since Singapore is a small market, we would like to learn more about Singapore’s success story and strengthen cross-border cooperation, which is crucial for small countries like Singapore and Estonia,”
said Liisi Org.
Latitude59 is growing into an international platform that connects and encourages local initiatives and helps make them bigger. Last year, Latitude59 made history by expanding to Nairobi, Kenya for the very first satellite event. In autumn 2024, the team of Latitude59 is about to head back to Africa – over 2,000 participants are expected to attend Latitude59 Kenya Edition on November 28, 2024.
Latitude59, which took place for the 12th time in Tallinn, Estonia, was visited by more than 3,500 people, including more than 900 startup representatives and 20 national delegations. Nearly 600 investors participated this year, the size of their managed portfolios totaling at least 30 billion euros. 195 speakers, 40% of whom were women, could be seen on Latitude59’s stages. In total, there were participants from more than 60 different countries worldwide.
Latitude59 Global Mixer: Estonian Tech Meets Singapore event is organized in collaboration with the Estonian Embassy in Singapore, Estonian Business and Innovation Agency (Enterprise Estonia), the SWITCH conference and Latitude59. The event is partly funded by European Union – Next Generation EU.
