Senior Data Scientist
Description

As a Data Scientist you will be at the forefront of underwriting development, defining how and what data should be collected to improve Creditstar Group's decision making and enable discovery of actionable insights that will improve the experience of our customers in 8 countries. You will be helping Product and Risk Managers make data-informed decisions and lead your own projects. Responsibilities
  • Develop and refine our consumer loan credit scoring and policy, ensuring effective risk management
  • Conduct model back-testing, run A/B tests, analyze outcomes, and make informed recommendations for decisions
  • Apply advanced statistics to predict customer behavior and anticipate future demands
  • Continuously improve our credit policy, collaborating with product and tech teams for implementation
  • Build decision models using open banking and other unique data sources
  • Enhance our affordability policy to consistently achieve positive customer experiences
  • Collaborate with data engineers to maintain a robust data infrastructure
  • Analyze our loan portfolio's performance, identify improvement areas, and suggest strategic adjustments
  • Partner with the product team to develop and evaluate pricing models based on portfolio results
  • Work with the marketing team to refine customer acquisition strategies, focusing on customer quality
  • Lead the data science strategy, create clear reports, and ensure alignment with management and various teams
  • Establish and maintain high standards and best practices in data science
Qualifications
  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in credit risk within a consumer lending setting
  • Proficient in handling and analyzing large datasets using SQL and Python
  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Physics, or Statistics
  • Experienced in using open banking and other data sources for consumer loan products
  • You are experienced in visualization and storytelling through data and passionate about turning data into actionable business insights and driving decision-making
  • You're organized with your time and able to work effectively with cross-functional teams including tech, data science, finance, and product
  • Great team management and leadership skills
  • Highly curious, constantly seeking to learn, improve, and share knowledge
  • Adaptable, with a startup mindset, ready for a fast-paced environment
